Drop Off/Pick Up
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
The parking lot procedures have been designed to help the flow of traffic during arrival and dismissal times. Listed below are all of the arrival and dismissal procedures as well as parking lot procedures. Please be patient during the first few weeks of school as the teachers and staff become familiar with you and can recognize your car. Please have your placards with you at all times. Even after the teacher and staff get to know you and your car, a substitute teacher will not.
Teachers and staff are on duty for the safety of your children. Please treat them with respect and consideration at all times, and follow the directions they are giving. We recognize that arrival and dismissal can and will cause delays, however, for the safety of all of the students we ask that you comply, without hesitation, with the directions of the school staff at all times.
South Front and North Parking Lots
These parking lots are reserved for staff only. In the South front parking lot, Pre-K parents may park since they have to sign their student in. Parents may park in the back South parking lot and walk around to the office.
Students and Parents:
Our campus opens its doors for students at 7:45 AM. Please be aware that if you drop your child off before 7:45 AM there will not be anyone outside to supervise them. We do not provide childcare for them unless they are part of our Before/After Care program. When the school opens at 7:45 AM students should proceed to the playground (K-3rd grade) and the North basketball court (4th-8th grade). The whistle will sound at 7:55 AM and students will line up in their designated spot.
Kindergarten Pick-up
Kindergarten is released for pick-up in the back South parking lot off of Acoma at 2:30 PM every day. Kindergarteners with older siblings will wait for their older siblings in the cafeteria and will be brought out to the back South parking lot off of Acoma with the oldest student’s teacher at the oldest student’s dismissal time. On early release days, kindergarteners will be released at 12:00 PM and will follow the above procedure
1st/2nd Grade Pick-up
1st and 2nd grade is released for pick-up in the back South parking lot off of Acoma at 2:45 PM every day. 1st and 2nd graders with older siblings will wait for their older siblings in the cafeteria and will be brought out to the back South parking lot off of Acoma with the oldest student’s teacher at the oldest student’s dismissal time. On early release days, 1st and 2nd graders will be released at 12:15 PM and will follow the above procedure.
3rd Grade Pick-up
3rd grade singles (with no siblings/carpool) will be picked up on the North side parking lot off of Custer Lane at 2:45 PM. If they have siblings, they will be escorted by a 3rd grade teacher to the cafeteria and will either pick up their younger sibling (to be walked out by the 3rd grade teacher) or wait in the cafeteria for their older sibling. Either pick-up will be in the back South parking lot off of Acoma. On early release days, 3rd graders will be released at 12:15 PM and will follow the above procedure.
4th/5th Grade Pick-up
4th/5th grade singles (with no siblings/carpool) will be picked up on the North side parking lot off of Custer Lane at 3:00 PM. If they have siblings, they will be escorted by a 4th/5th grade teacher to the cafeteria and will either pick up their younger sibling (to be walked out by their teacher) or wait in the cafeteria for their older sibling. Pick-up will be in the back South parking lot off of Acoma. On early release days, 4th/5th graders will be released at 12:30 PM and will follow the above procedure.
6th – 8th Grade Pick-up
6th – 8th grade singles (with no siblings/carpool) will be picked up on the North side parking lot off of Custer Lane at 3:00 PM. If they have siblings, they will be escorted by a 6th-8th grade teacher to the cafeteria and will either pick up their younger sibling (to be walked out by their teacher) or find their older sibling. Pick-up will be in the back South parking lot off of Acoma. On early release days, 6th – 8th graders will be released at 12:30 PM and will follow the above procedure.
Crosswalk
When in any of the parking lots on campus, everyone must use the crosswalk. We ask the adults to set the example. Safety is very important.
Students needing assistance
If your student needs assistance loading or unloading their belongings out of the car, please park in the parking lot and assist them. We cannot have any adults getting out of their car along the curb.
Please be ON-TIME to pick up your student. If your student is not picked up by 3:15 PM, they will be sent to our Extended Care program and parents will have to pay the appropriate fees. Please call the office with any questions. Drop off and pick-up runs smoothly and safely when everyone follows the procedures that have been put in place. We appreciate your patience and support.
