Gifted is alive and thriving at Calibre Academy!

To qualify for gifted services, a student must score 97% or above on the CogAT. The CogAT is one of several state mandated tests to determine placement in a gifted program in Arizona.

Testing for gifted placement takes place twice a year in the fall and spring for grades 2-8.

Services provided once a child qualifies are through the cluster model; one teacher at each grade level being considered the cluster teacher. The gifted coordinator provides training and support to those teachers. Additionally, the coordinator sees gifted students once a week to discuss their social and emotional needs.

Our Gifted Education programs are coordinated by Leah Bowers. Mrs. Bowers is President of the Arizona Association for Gifted & Talented (AAGT)-Northwest Valley Supporters of Gifted (NVSG). Please contact Mrs. Bowers at leah.bowers@calibreacademy.com for additional information.
