Stephanie Marciniak

I would like to introduce myself; my name is Stephanie Marciniak I am the Art Teacher at Calibre Academy.  This is my ninth year teaching art.  Before teaching art I was a first grade teacher for 8 years; I love working with kids!  I was born and raised in Arizona and graduated from ASU with a degree in Fine Arts Education.  I have a wonderful husband Ryan, two awesome kids Rowen (11) and Zoe (9), and two crazy dogs named Luna and Loki.  We love to travel; my favorite trip was to Amsterdam to visit the Van Gogh Museum.   We try to spend as much time as possible at our cabin to enjoy family time and the cool weather.  We are a hockey family, big fans of the Detroit Red Wings!  In fact all of our male dogs we have had are named after great Detroit hockey players.

Art has always been my passion; giving children confidence in their art skills brings me tons of joy.  I teach both the elementary and middle years students.  Classes will meet with me once a week to create their masterpieces.  Here are some examples of projects that most of my grade levels will be working on.

  • Self-portraits
  • Oil Pastels
  • Watercolor
  • 3D Art
  • Weaving
  • Clay

All of my students are expected to show the following in their art work:

  • Art Elements and Art Principles…taught with every lesson
  • Objective…the goal or purpose of the lesson
  • Technique…the art skill used in a specific task
  • Quality…good craftsmanship

Students are also expected to respect OUR classroom, supplies and each other. Most important, have fun in Art!
